Renovation 2025 – Updates

Money Raised + Pledges

DONATIONS ARE LIVE – MAKE YOUR DONATION TODAY!

June 4, 2025

Dear Club Royal Members and Community,

We’re reaching out today not just with an update—but with a heartfelt call to action.

After multiple inspections and expert evaluations, we’ve confirmed that our pool must be replastered this fall in order to remain operational next season. The current plaster is so deteriorated that it’s leading to rapid algae growth, creating both a maintenance challenge and a safety concern. While we’ve implemented an in-line chlorine system for this summer, our pool maintenance company has made it clear: this is our final temporary solution. Without necessary repairs, this could be Club Royal’s last season.

To move forward, we must raise $200,000. This amount will cover:

  • Replastering

  • Tiling

  • Plumbing

  • Electrical work

  • Possible shade structure installation

  • Minor bathroom repairs

This is a critical moment, and we need the strength of our entire community to succeed.

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP:

  • Make a Donation: Every dollar counts. One-time and monthly donation options are available.

  • Become a Legacy Donor: With a gift of $1,000 or more, your family’s name will be commemorated on a custom pool tile that will last for decades.

  • Engage Your Network: Ask your employer, business contacts, or community partners to consider becoming sponsors. See our Community Sponsorships Page above.

  • Join Us at Fundraising Events: Check our event calendar and show up to support!

Yes! If you have any interest in helping with fundraising, renovation planning, or general operations for the summer, we would love for you to join us. We have a board meeting Tuesday, June 10 at 8 pm and a Fundraising Team Meeting 6/18

We hope not! We are working to secure a business loan to cover at least the minimum work that needs to be done – plaster, tile, plumbing, and electrical. So we are planning to make sure the work can happen this off-season, one way or another. Fundraising will go directly toward paying for the renovation, or it will go toward paying off the loan. It would also be great if we could raise enough money to cover more exciting things like bathroom updates, shade structures, new furniture, etc.

We are working to obtain a loan to cover at least the minimum work that needs to be done so the pool can stay open! Donations will be used directly toward renovations or other improvements, or to pay off the loan.

We had a kick-off fundraising event – Ladies Bunco Night – and raised $1100! But other than that, we are starting at zero for this specific purpose. Our operational budget is higher this year because we have increased maintenance costs and we are balancing being able to have lifeguards at the pool as much as possible. We started this season with about $20,000 in our bank account.

Not yet. We have filed our application with the IRS and are waiting for approval. We honestly don’t know how long that might take.

If we get approved, donations will be retroactively tax deductible. However, we can’t guarantee that at this time.

We currently have 145 households who are members of Club Royal, which is slightly more than this date in 2024. Last year we continued to add members until we reached 170 households at the end of the summer.

If we assume 150 households for this year, that breaks down to an average of $1333 per household.

The fundraising information is being sent out to members from previous years as well.

We have a Community Sponsorship letter, please reach out via email, and we can send it to you – SaveClubRoyal@gmail.com
